AT&T, Verizon, T-Mobile Warn of Price Hikes Amid Tariffs

The nation's three largest mobile carriers – AT&T, Verizon, and T-Mobile – are all signaling to their customers that price increases are on the horizon in the coming months. The reason?

According to top executives, the growing pressures of rising tariffs and persistent disruptions in the global supply chain are making it necessary for these costs to be passed down to consumers.

This comes at a time of increasing economic uncertainty, largely fueled by President Donald Trump's new trade tariffs. While your smartphone might not be directly slapped with a tariff, the supply chain is feeling the strain, leading to higher operational costs across the board for carriers.

Verizon CEO Hans Vestberg made it crystal clear where the burden will lie. "If the tariff is going to be as high as they say on the handsets, we are not planning to cover that," he stated, indicating a direct pass-through of these increased costs.

T-Mobile leadership echoed this sentiment, suggesting that any expansion of tariffs to cover more devices or essential components will inevitably lead to higher prices for their subscribers.
