AT&T Expands Fiber Sales to 4,000 Cricket Wireless Stores

Cricket Wireless is evolving from a prepaid carrier into a comprehensive internet storefront. Starting as soon as April 9, 2026, AT&T will reportedly begin a broad rollout of Fiber sales across Cricket’s retail footprint.

The Expansion Details

The transition follows successful pilot programs in Texas, where dealers have offered AT&T Fiber for as low as $40 per month. This builds on the 2024 launch of AT&T Internet Air (fixed wireless) in select stores. However, due to infrastructure limits, Wave7 Research estimates Fiber will be available in fewer than 2,000 of Cricket’s 4,000+ locations.

The Shift to "Cricket Internet"

By late 2026, rumors suggest AT&T may rebrand these services as "Cricket Internet," integrating billing directly into Cricket’s ecosystem. This move aligns with the March 31 launch of AT&T OneConnect, a bundle designed to drive "convergence"—unifying home and mobile data.

The Strategic Play

AT&T’s goal is to increase customer value; "converged" subscribers show lower churn and higher line counts. With Verizon acquiring Frontier and T-Mobile expanding its fiber reach, AT&T is weaponizing Cricket’s massive retail presence to dominate the home connectivity market.
