T-Mobile Discontinues Go5G Plans, Introduces New Policy

T-Mobile has started removing its Go5G plans from its retail sales system, a move largely expected as they're replaced by the Experience More and Experience Beyond plans introduced in April.

"Value" Shift and Disappearing Access

While T-Mobile touts more value in the new Experience plans, they don't include taxes and fees, unlike Go5G. Reports from late April indicated T-Mobile was discouraging Go5G sign-ups, which the company didn't deny, only stating limited availability.

By May, Go5G plans vanished from T-Mobile's website, though phone and chat sign-ups remained. Now, they're gone from T-Mobile's internal systems. Existing Go5G customers can keep their plans, but new sign-ups are impossible for retail staff. Customer care might still offer limited activations.

Broader Policy Changes and Brand Shift

Beyond phone plans, T-Mobile is also eliminating watch and tablet plans that include taxes and fees.

From June 18th, only tax-excluded versions will be available. A new policy allows mixing tax-included and tax-excluded plans on accounts, meaning new lines on old plans will have separate taxes, potentially causing billing confusion.

This change signals T-Mobile's departure from its 2017 "What You See Should Be What You Pay" slogan, as the company appears to be repositioning itself as a premium brand.
