Galaxy S25 FE: Firmware Development Points to Launch

Firmware development begins for the Galaxy S25 FE, hinting at specs, release, and long-term software support.

Galaxy S25 FE: Firmware Development Points to Launch

Following the popular Galaxy S20 FE 5G, Samsung is seemingly gearing up for the Galaxy S25 FE, continuing their annual FE tradition (excluding 2021).

Key development is underway

Samsung has reportedly started firmware development for the US unlocked version (SM-S731U, firmware S731USQU0AYDH).

The device is expected to launch with Android 16 and One UI 8.0 and, remarkably, receive seven major Android OS updates.

What to anticipate

Leaks and reports indicate the S25 FE might feature a thinner design with a wider battery (the capacity could remain unchanged).

While an earlier rumor suggested a MediaTek Dimensity processor, it's now believed to utilize the Exynos 2400e, similar to the S24 FE.

Other anticipated specs

  • 8GB/12GB RAM, at least 256GB storage
  • a potential 12MP selfie camera upgrade (like the Galaxy A56)
  • a familiar 50MP triple rear camera system
  • 25W/45W fast charging and 15W wireless charging
  • stereo speakers
  • An in-display fingerprint reader
  • IP67 dust/water resistance.

Expect the S25 FE to be great, with good performance, features, and long software support. We hope to share more information as we learn it.
